One of the most trending news that is on the internet as of yesterday, Tuesday, 7th of June, is the Jesus News. People, especially Christians have taken to the social media to post the name JESUS on their Facebook profile pictures and on their social media handles. This started happening after the popular Gospel musician, Nathaniel Bassey urged all to upload it as their cover pages on his Instagram handle.
According to Nathaniel Bassey, there must be peace in Nigeria and it is only the name of Jesus that can bring that peace.
Recall that earlier on Sunday, 5th June, gunmen attacked the St. Francis Catholic Church that is in Owo, Ondo State and killed more than 5o persons, injuring many others. There has been many other killings in the country and people are no more feeling safe to go out or travel. It is for this reason that Christians are calling on the name of Jesus for intervention.
Mr Chijioke Nwosu, one of FECA Nsukka Senior Members, has posted his own, stating that this is not just one of the social media trends that people are known for doing, that "this is not about forcing our beliefs down people's throats by declaring the name of Jesus. Rather, it is about boldly declaring that name of Jesus and all that His name is. Jesus saves! Jesus delivers! We declare the name of Jesus over Nigeria!"
