Deuteronomy 28:9  "The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways."

Obedience and holiness works hand in hand. The reference scripture tells us that the Lord has said He would make the people of Israel a holy people. He would make them as His own people, He would sanctify them unto Himself only if they keep His commandments and walk in His ways. 

 He is still saying the same to us that if we obey and keep His commands, He would make us holy and acceptable unto Him. 

Similarly, Jesus our Saviour, repeated the same thing when He stated that only those who keep His commandments love Him and when we do keep His commandments He and His Father would come and dwell in us.

God wants us to obey His instructions and to walk in His ways, so He would be able to lift us up. Bishop Oyedepo would fondly say," Every commandment of scriptures is for profiting.” Holiness is for profiting, its benefits transcends even unto Heaven. And obedience to God is the gateway to holiness, it's gateway to His Holy nature. Holiness is a virtue we have to possess, so you can choose to take a step and become Holy, just as your Maker.
