Eph.5.14 Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! (M.S.B)
Bishop David Oyedepo shared the testimony of a brother who heard him say, “if you are not working, you are dying without knowing.”
After that word encounter, it triggered him to getting a job certainly, he started by selling coconut and ended up as a manager.
Just as that brother we must accept responsibility for the change we desire. Our text Ephesians 5:14 tells those who are in sleep to awaken, for only then can Christ give them light. As free as sunlight is, you must awaken from sleep to see it, you must open your eyes to behold its beauty.
Responsibility is what we need to awaken from sleep and arise from the dead. Responsibility is the cost of change, it's having laws guiding us. It's being law-abiding. I once saw a film that pictured the lifestyle of kings and queens. From a very tender age the prince and princess are groomed and cultured into becoming kings and queens.
The weight of their duties to their subjects and kingdom is made clear to them, so that when they are up to age they can fit in into their power.
As little princes and princess they are not allowed to play by just any river or park, they can't eat any kind of dishes even though it's healthy. They are groomed to the fullness of responsibility.
And just as the life's of kings and queens are filled with responsibilities, how much more we, redeemed as kings and priests unto God. Responsibility is something we cannot do without. For any change, we desire, the price to pay is responsibility. There is no greatness without responsibility, the irresponsible have no place.
So awaken from the sleep of laziness, go for responsibility!
God doesn't need wise men, He wants responsible men.
