  • Bishop David Abioye Inaugurates new Church, Cites Divine Mandate

    Bishop

Bishop David Abioye, the former vice president of Winners Chapel, officially inaugurated his new church, Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, during a Sunday morning service on May 4, 2025. In his address, Abioye emphasized that the creation of the assembly was not driven by public demand or external pressures but was, according to him, a response to what he described as "God’s eternal purpose" revealed to him towards the end of 2024.

Abioye outlined three main assignments for the new assembly: inspiring believers to selfless service, leading revival missions globally with a focus on spiritual awakening and dedication, and pastoring those brought to him by God. He repeatedly stressed that the move was not a reaction to calls for a new church but a fulfillment of a spiritual mandate, referencing scriptural backing and describing the assembly as an offshoot of the universal church.

Upon announcing the Church's name and purpose, the congregation reportedly responded with visible excitement and joy, erupting in celebration during the live-streamed service. Many attendees appeared supportive, welcoming the new direction and Abioye’s stated vision for spiritual development and global revival.

The inauguration follows Abioye’s recent retirement from Winners Chapel after changes to the church’s leadership policy, which has generated public discussion and speculation about his next steps. However, Abioye made clear that his decision was not influenced by these events but was, in his words, an act of obedience to a divine calling.
